| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low throne without back (klismos-style stool), his body draped from the waist, holding an eagle with spread wings on his extended right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. In the left field, a quiver symbol is placed above a monogram, serving as mint and magistrate control marks specific to the Ephesian issue. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander. The composition follows the canonical Alexandrine reverse type established at Amphipolis and perpetuated across the Hellenistic world, here executed within a dotted border. |
