Obverse description Obverse depicts the royal effigy of King Huvishka, shown in a characteristic Kushan style, likely seated or riding in an elephant howdah, rendered in low relief consistent with hammered copper coinage of the period. The figure wears traditional Kushan royal regalia including a crown and elaborate robes. The Bactrian legend ÞAO NANO ÞAO OOhÞKI KOÞANO, meaning 'King of Kings, Huvishka the Kushan,' encircles the central device. The heavily patinated and worn surfaces, now displaying green and brown toning, reflect the coin's considerable age and circulation. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hand-struck issues of the Kushan Empire.
