Heliokles II ruled a shrinking kingdom — by his reign, Indo-Greek control had been fractured by successive Saka and Yuezhi incursions pushing down from the north, and his territory was largely confined to the Paropamisadae region. Whether he was the son of Eucratides II or belongs to a separate dynastic line remains genuinely unresolved among specialists. The coinage itself is the primary evidence for his existence at all.
