Beschrijving voorzijde Facing lion scalp rendered in high relief, depicted full-face with prominent flowing mane radiating symmetrically around the visage. The broad, flat muzzle is rendered with deeply incised nostrils and a central facial groove, characteristic of the Samian artistic tradition. The mane is elaborately detailed with fine radiating striations, filling the flan to its irregular edges. No legend or inscription appears in the field. The overall style reflects the bold, archaic-influenced engraving technique prevalent in Aegean coinage of the early fourth century BC.

Beschrijving keerzijde Forepart of a bull advancing to the right, rendered with muscular anatomical detail characteristic of late Classical Greek engraving. The magistrate's name HΓHΣIANAΞ is inscribed above the bull in Greek letters, while an olive branch appears to the left of the design. The ethnic ΣΑ and a monogram are placed below the bull's forepart. The entire reverse type is contained within a shallow incuse square, a hallmark of early Samian coinage. The composition reflects the standard civic and magistrate-attributed issue type of Samos during this period.
