| Beschrijving voorzijde | Standing male figure in three-quarter view facing left, draped in a long chiton and himation, rendered in the Greco-Persian artistic tradition characteristic of Carian dynastic coinage. The figure holds a long spear or sceptre upright in the right hand and raises a labrys (double-headed axe) over the left shoulder, attributes associated with Carian religious and royal iconography. The effigy is modelled with considerable plasticity, the drapery falling in naturalistic folds about the lower body. No legend appears on the obverse. The field is plain and unincused, consistent with the hammered fabric of the flan. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A lion in profile advancing to the left, depicted in a crouching or springing posture with forelegs extended and head turned frontally to face the viewer, its flowing mane rendered with fine detail in the Archaic-to-Classical transitional style. The animal stands upon a plain groundline that bisects the lower field. Above the lion, the Greek legend ΕΚΑΤΟΜΝΟ (reading EKATΟMNΟ, referring to Hecatomnus) is inscribed across the upper field in archaic Greek letterforms. The composition is bold and well-centred, reflecting the high artistic quality of Carian dynastic silver coinage. |
