| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, with short beard visible. The emperor is depicted in imperial military dress, the cuirass rendered with fine detail. The peripheral Greek legend encircles the bust, reading AVT K ΠΛIK ΓAΛΛIHNOC CEB, identifying the emperor by his titles. The portrait exhibits the characteristic style of Alexandrian billon tetradrachms of the mid-third century, with strong, individualized facial features. |
