Obverse description Radiate bust of the usurper Domitianus facing right, depicted with a short beard and draped and cuirassed shoulders, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The radiate crown, composed of pointed rays, frames the portrait with imperial authority. The obverse legend ΔOMITI-ANOΣ ΣEB runs around the bust, identifying the usurper with the Greek title Sebastos (Augustus). The portrait is executed in the characteristic late Roman Egyptian tetradrachm style, with strong facial features and a compact composition within the round flan.
