Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros seated left on a throne with back, his torso nude and himation draped over his lower body and legs. He extends his right arm forward, upon which perches an eagle, while his left hand grasps a tall sceptre. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field, and ΔΙΟΓΝΗΤΟΣ appears horizontally in the lower exergual area beneath the throne. A sphinx, the civic badge of Chios, is depicted in the lower left field as a control symbol, accompanied by a secondary control mark above it. The composition follows the canonical Alexandrine reverse type with Chian civic additions.
