| Obverse description | Diademed head of Demetrius I Poliorcetes facing right, adorned with a bull's horn rising from the diadem above the forehead, an attribute alluding to his divine or heroic pretensions. The portrait is rendered in the vigorous Hellenistic style, with richly detailed wavy hair swept back from the face and secured by a broad royal diadem. The fleshy, idealized facial features reflect the influence of the Lysippan portrait tradition. A dotted border frames the field. |

| Reverse description | Poseidon Pelagaeus standing left, nude but for a chlamys draped over his left arm, his right foot raised and resting upon a rocky promontory, holding a long trident upright in his left hand. In the field to the left, the letter H enclosed within a wreath. Between the god's legs, a monogram appears above a cornucopiae. The reverse legend ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ('of King Demetrius') runs in the upper and lower fields. The composition reflects the mint of Sicyon and the maritime associations of Demetrius's rule. |
