Obverse description Diademed head of Demetrius I Poliorcetes facing right, adorned with a bull's horn emerging from the diadem — an attribute associating him with divine or semi-divine status. The hair is rendered in thick, flowing locks swept back from the forehead in a vigorous Hellenistic style, with fine engraving detail visible in the curling strands. The portrait is youthful and idealized, exhibiting the high-relief portraiture characteristic of early Hellenistic royal coinage. The field is plain and the coin is bordered by a dotted bead-and-reel border visible along the right edge.
