Reverse description Poseidon Pelagaios, nude and majestic, stands facing left in a striding pose with his right arm raised and drawn back in preparation to hurl his trident, which he grips in his right hand; his left arm is extended forward for balance. The god is depicted in the heroic Hellenistic tradition, with muscular anatomy rendered in high relief. Two monograms appear in the field, one to the left and one to the right of the central figure. The reverse legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ (of King Demetrius) is arranged vertically in the fields flanking the deity, identifying the issuing authority.
