Obverse description Prow of a galley (trireme) shown in three-quarter perspective facing left, with an aphlaston (curved stern ornament) rising prominently above the stern. The prow features detailed hull timbers and a projecting ram at the waterline. A Nike (Victory) figure, rendered in high relief, stands atop the prow with wings spread, facing left, and holding a naval standard. The entire design is set within a fine dotted border, executed in the bold Hellenistic artistic style characteristic of the Demetrian coinage.
