| Obverse description | Nike, goddess of victory, stands in three-quarter view atop the prow of a warship (aphlaston visible at stern), her great wings spread wide, facing left. She raises a long naval trumpet (salpinx) to her lips with her right hand, and her drapery billows dramatically in the wind. The ship's prow is rendered in fine detail, showing the ram (embolon) and decorated hull, all set within a dotted border. The composition conveys the naval victories of Demetrius Poliorcetes and reflects the masterful Hellenistic engraving tradition of the Ephesos mint. |

| Reverse description | Poseidon Pelagaios stands nude in a dynamic pose, striding to the left with his right arm raised and extended forward holding a trident, and his left arm extended behind him. The god's muscular figure is rendered in the finest Hellenistic style. In the left field appears a Macedonian helmet (kausia) above a monogram; a star with rays appears in the right field. The Greek inscription ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ runs along the right and lower margins of the field, identifying the issuer as King Demetrius. |
