Reverse description Poseidon Pelagaios stands left in a dynamic contrapposto pose, nude, his weight shifted as he prepares to hurl a trident held in his raised right hand, his left arm extended for balance. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ runs in two lines flanking the deity, reading 'of King Demetrius.' A control letter Z appears in the left field and the monogram HP occupies the right field, serving as mint or magistrate marks. The composition exhibits the vigorous, idealized musculature characteristic of the Successors' coinage.
