Reverse description Poseidon Pelagaios, depicted nude, seated left upon a rocky outcrop, his body turned slightly toward the viewer in a dignified, composed pose. In his extended right hand he holds an aphlaston (the ornamental stern piece of a warship), referencing Demetrius's celebrated naval victories, while his left hand rests on an upright trident. To the inner left, a monogram appears above the letter Z; a second monogram is placed in the outer right field. The royal legend is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuer. The composition reflects the refined artistic standards of early Hellenistic coinage.
