Reverse description Poseidon Pelagaios, fully nude, standing in three-quarter pose facing left, his right foot propped upon a rock or promontory, with his right arm resting on his raised knee. The god holds a long trident upright in his left hand, a bold symbol of maritime dominion befitting Demetrius's naval ambitions. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ is disposed in two lines flanking the deity, with control monograms placed in the inner left and right fields. The composition is rendered with confident Hellenistic draftsmanship within a dotted border.
