| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed head of Demetrios I Soter facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with short curling hair and a plain diadem. The portrait is clean-shaven with naturalistic, individualistic facial features characteristic of late Seleucid royal portraiture. The effigy is set within a wreath border composed of olive or laurel branches encircling the entire field. No legend appears on the obverse. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Tyche, the goddess of fortune, seated on a throne facing left, wearing a turreted crown and draped garments. She holds a sceptre in her right hand and rests her left arm upon the throne. A monogram appears in the left field (SC2#1638.1) or in the lower exergue (SC2#1638.2). The royal legend is inscribed in two vertical columns flanking the central figure, reading ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to the right and ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ to the left. |
