Obverse description Diademed portrait bust of Demetrios I Soter facing right, the diadem ties visible behind the neck, rendered with fine Hellenistic portraiture style emphasizing the king's strong facial features and short curled hair. The effigy is enframed within a laurel wreath border encircling the entire coin field, its leaves and berries clearly articulated in high relief. No legend appears on the obverse, the portrait alone serving as royal identification.
