Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the distinctive provincial style of the Alexandrian mint. The emperor's effigy displays characteristic late 2nd-century portraiture with a wreath of laurel leaves crowning the head. The Greek imperial legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of hammered billon tetradrachms from the Alexandrian series.

Reverse description A large sailing vessel depicted in right profile, with billowing sails and rigging rendered in fine detail, advancing over stylised waves in the exergue. To the left in the field stands the Pharos of Alexandria, the celebrated lighthouse depicted as a tall tower — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World — serving as a symbol of the city and its maritime significance. The regnal year date L ΚΘ (Year 29) appears in the lower field below the ship, within a dotted border.
