Obverse description Radiate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Claudius II Gothicus facing right, with short beard, draped over the left shoulder. The emperor wears a radiate crown with clearly rendered spikes. The Greek imperial titulature legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style, with broad facial features typical of the mid-third century coinage of Roman Egypt.
