| Obverse description | Cista mystica depicted in three-quarter perspective at centre, its lid ajar with a serpent emerging and rearing to the right. The cista rests on a decorated base and is enclosed within a wreath composed of alternating ivy leaves and clusters of berries or flowers, forming a complete border around the field. The entire design is rendered in high relief characteristic of the cistophoric coinage tradition, with no legend on this side. |
