| Descrizione del dritto | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Macrinus facing right, depicted in a robust, slightly rough provincial style characteristic of the Carrhae mint. A radiate crown of short spikes frames the emperor's bearded portrait. The encircling Greek legend reads AYT K M OΠ CЄ MAKPINOC CЄ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The portrait is rendered with pronounced facial features typical of Eastern provincial coinage of the early third century AD. |
