| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse depicts the king Azes II on horseback, shown in right-facing profile, seated in a commanding equestrian pose with a spear or sceptre held upright in the right hand. The rider wears military dress with a flowing cloak or drapery behind him, rendered in the bold, somewhat stylised Gandharan tradition typical of Indo-Scythian coinage. The horse is shown in a walking stance with all four legs clearly articulated. A circular Greek legend surrounds the central device, reading BAΣIΛEΩΣ BAΣIΛEΩN MEΓAΛOY AZOY (King of Kings, Azes the Great), disposed around the full circumference of the coin in the field. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a standing male deity, identified as Zeus or a Hellenised rendering of a local divinity, depicted in three-quarter stance facing left, draped in a himation about the lower body while the upper torso is bare. The figure extends one arm forward, possibly presenting a wreath or small Nike, while holding a long sceptre or spear in the other hand. Two distinct monograms appear in the left and right fields, serving as mint or magistrate control marks characteristic of Taxila issues. A continuous Kharosthi legend encircles the entire design, reading MAHARAJASA RAJADIRAJASU MAHATASA AYASA, the Prakrit equivalent of the Greek obverse title. |
