Obverse description Radiate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Aurelianus facing right, with a draped shoulder visible. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Egyptian style characteristic of Alexandrian tetradrachms, with the radiate crown denoting imperial solar associations. The encircling Greek legend reads A K Λ Δ O M AVPHΛIANOC CЄB, identifying the emperor by his titles. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of late third-century Alexandrian billon coinage.
