| Obverse description | Bare head of the youthful Heracles facing right, clad in the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin, rendered in high relief in the Lysippan tradition. The musculature of the lion's muzzle, paws, and mane is boldly articulated, enveloping the hero's head. The portrait is beardless and idealized, consistent with the standard Alexandrine tetradrachm type. A dotted border frames the design. |
