| Beschrijving voorzijde | Veiled and turreted head of Demeter or Kore facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with wavy locks escaping beneath a veil that drapes elegantly over the crown and nape. The hair is elaborately arranged with a wreath of grain, and delicate curls frame the face and neck. The portrait is modelled in high relief with smooth, naturalistic facial features characteristic of late third-century BC Macedonian-influenced coinage. The field is plain and uninscribed. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Poseidon seated left on rocks, his nude muscular body rendered in high Hellenistic relief, holding a small dolphin in his outstretched right hand and resting his left hand upon a long trident whose shaft extends diagonally behind him. Two monograms are placed in the left and right fields respectively. Along the lower exergual line, the Greek magistrate legend reads ΕΠΙ ΑΘΑΝΑΙΩΝΟΣ. The composition reflects the civic iconography of Byzantion, whose maritime identity is strongly expressed through the figure of the sea god. |
