| Beschrijving keerzijde | Arsakes I, the deified dynastic founder, seated facing right on an omphalos or throne, rendered in Hellenistic style with draped garments. He holds a bow in his extended right hand, a standard Arsacid dynastic emblem signifying royal and martial authority. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ is inscribed vertically in two columns flanking the central figure, reading to the right and left respectively. A control mark or mint symbol appears in the lower exergue area beneath the throne. The composition closely follows the established iconographic canon of Parthian tetradrachms struck at Seleucia on the Tigris. |
