Obverse description Bust of Athena Parthenos facing right, wearing an elaborately decorated Attic helmet adorned with a curvilinear crest, a coiled serpent along the bowl, and a palmette at the visor. The goddess's hair falls in loose locks beneath the helmet, and she wears a delicate earring. The portrait is rendered in the refined Hellenistic style characteristic of the New Style Athenian series, with finely modeled facial features and a beaded border encircling the field.
