Obverse description Youthful, bare-shouldered bust of Antiochos VI Dionysos facing right, adorned with a radiate crown of eight pointed rays issuing from a diadem, with elaborately rendered curling locks framing the face and falling behind the neck. The finely modelled effigy displays the idealized Hellenistic portrait style typical of late Seleucid royal coinage. No legend appears on the obverse, the field being plain and unlettered. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production.
