Obverse description Diademed portrait bust of Antiochos IX Kyzikenos facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition with fine curling hair secured by a royal diadem, its ends falling behind the neck. The effigy displays youthful idealized features with a strong profile, slightly open lips, and naturalistic modelling of the ear and jaw. The portrait is set within a fillet border encircling the field, consistent with late Seleucid die-cutting conventions. The die work exhibits high relief and confident engraving characteristic of the Tarsus or Antioch mint output of the late second century BC.
