| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Nikephoros seated in three-quarter view on a high-backed throne facing left, his upper body draped, with his right arm extended forward presenting a winged Nike and his left hand resting on a tall sceptre. The throne is depicted with ornate legs and a footstool beneath the deity's feet. The royal Greek legend is arranged in two vertical lines flanking the enthroned figure on both sides, reading BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ ANTIOXΟΥ on the left and ΘEOY EΠIΦANOYΣ NIKHΦOPOY on the right. The composition follows the Seleucid royal coinage tradition directly derived from the Macedonian tetradrachm type. |
