| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left on a high-backed throne, his upper body nude and his lower body draped, holding a long scepter upright in his raised left hand while extending his right hand forward bearing an eagle facing left with wings closed. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to the right and ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ to the right below it identifies the issue as struck in the name of King Seleukos. A control monogram appears in the left field above a dolphin symbol, with an additional monogram beneath the throne. The composition follows the canonical Zeus-enthroned type established for the Seleucid dynastic coinage. |
