The portrait exhibits strong, naturalistic facial features with a prominent brow and aquiline nose, set within a beaded border. The figure is rendered in a classicizing style with careful attention to musculature and drapery absence. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΓΟΝΟΥ is arranged in two lines in the field, and an oblong control monogram appears below the galley prow in the exergue area. The composition reflects the Antigonid dynasty's maritime ambitions and association with Apollo as divine patron. |
