Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned in left profile upon a high-backed throne, his upper body nude and his lower body draped, his right hand extended to support an eagle perched with wings closed, and his left hand gripping a long sceptre. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΓΟΝΟΥ runs along the right and lower fields, identifying the issuer as King Antigonos. A royal monogram appears in the inner left field. The composition reflects the canonical Macedonian royal reverse type derived from the coinage of Alexander the Great.
