| Obverse description | A griffin in dynamic leaping pose to left, rendered in high relief with fine archaic detail. The creature displays a prominent hooked beak, an erect spike atop the head, and a carefully engraved mane along the neck. The large, spread wings are articulated with incised feather lines, and the muscular leonine hindquarters and forepaws are depicted in a crouching-spring attitude. The entire design occupies a plain, slightly concave field characteristic of Abderite hammered coinage. |

| Reverse description | Within a shallow incuse square, a female head facing left, tentatively identified as Artemis, rendered in fine archaic style with hair carefully arranged. The portrait is framed by a linear inner square border, all set within the characteristic deep incuse square of Abderite tetradrachms. The magistrate's name ΑΝΑΞΙΠΟΛΙΣ is inscribed in Greek letters around or within the linear square, identifying this issue to the eponymous magistracy. The incuse technique and linear framing are hallmarks of the Abdera civic coinage series. |
