Obverse description Stylised Celtic rendering of the youthful head of Herakles facing right, clad in the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the throat. The facial features display the characteristic Celtic abstraction of the Macedonian prototype, with pronounced eye, boldly modelled nose, and slightly parted lips. The mane of the lion skin radiates in deeply engraved, schematised striations filling the left field. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse.
