Reverse description Zeus Aetophoros enthroned to the left upon a high-backed throne, his nude torso draped from the waist, holding an eagle with spread wings on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. The throne is rendered as a simple stool-throne with decorative leg details. The ethnic legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, and the name ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ appears or is implied by mint context. Beneath the throne, a control mark consisting of a globule above the Greek letter B serves as a mint or magistrate identifier, a characteristic feature of the Tarsos issue catalogued as Price 3001.
