Obverse description Right-facing heroic head of Herakles in three-quarter relief, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress, the lion's muzzle and paws rendered in fine detail across the crown and neck. The portrait displays strong, idealized facial features with a pronounced brow and full lips, characteristic of the Lysippan artistic tradition associated with Alexander III coinage. The dotted border encircles the design within the coin's irregular flan. No legend appears on the obverse, the identification of the subject being conveyed purely through iconography. The style reflects the engravers active at the Cypriot mint of Paphos during the late fourth century BC.
