Reverse description Zeus Aetophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his nude upper body shown in three-quarter view, holding an eagle perched on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left hand. The god's feet rest upon a low footstool. In the left field, a club is depicted as a mint control symbol. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, designating the coin as belonging to Alexander. The composition is executed in the canonical Alexandrine reverse type established at the Amphipolis mint.
