| Opis rewersu | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left upon a low throne, his upper body nude and draped from the waist, holding an eagle perched on his extended right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. The royal legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs to the right of the throne. In the left field, a cock stands facing left, serving as a mint control symbol identifying the Amphipolis issue. The composition is well-centred with clean fields typical of the early regal coinage, and the engraving of Zeus displays authoritative, classical dignity consistent with the Price series for this mint. |
