Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Alexander I Balas facing right, portrayed in the Hellenistic royal tradition with the diadem ends falling straight behind the head and visible from the front. The portrait exhibits fine die-cutting characteristic of the Tyrian mint, with careful attention to facial features and the drape of the garment across the shoulder. The field is smooth and unlettered, placing full compositional emphasis on the royal effigy.
