Obverse description Silphium plant depicted frontally and occupying the full field, showing the characteristic large bulbous seedhead at the apex, broad spreading leaves, and a segmented stalk terminating in a rounded base, rendered in high relief with fine engraved detail. The city ethnic BAPKAI is distributed in four groups around the plant in the field, reading B – AP – KA – I, separated by the plant's foliage. A dotted border frames the design.

Reverse description Facing head of Zeus Ammon rendered in high archaic relief, with wide-open eyes, ram's horns curling behind the ears, and hair flowing outward in loose wavy strands on either side of the face. The bold, frontal treatment imparts a striking hieratic quality characteristic of Cyrenaican coinage of the fourth century BC. The magistrate's name AKEΣIOΣ appears divided in two groups flanking the head in the field.
