| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left upon a stool-throne, his upper body nude and his lower body draped; his outstretched right hand supports an eagle, while his left hand firmly grasps a tall sceptre. In the left field, the ethnic magistrate name ΑΙΝΗΤΩΡ is inscribed vertically above a rose, the Rhodian civic symbol, with the abbreviated ethnic ΡΟ (for ΡΟΔΙΩΝ) placed below the throne. The royal legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying this as an issue struck in the name of Alexander III the Great. |
