Obverse description A fast quadriga driven to the left, with a charioteer in long chiton holding the kentron and reins; above the horses, an eagle flies to the left. In the exergue, an ear of barley oriented to the left. The dynamic composition reflects the mature Sicilian die-cutting tradition of the late fifth century BC.
