Obverse description Bearded male head in left profile, identified as Zeus Ammon, rendered with bold, high-relief engraving characteristic of the Kyrenaean die-cutting tradition. The hair is elaborately dressed in fine parallel striations swept back from the brow, secured by a tainia or diadem, and falling in thick curling locks about the neck. A prominent ram's horn curls behind the ear, the defining attribute linking the deity to the Ammonion oracle of Libya. The finely modelled beard is rendered in dense, deeply incised wavy locks. A partial inscription appears to the right of the field.

Reverse description A silphium plant depicted in full, occupying the central field, shown with its characteristic tall stalk, broad heart-shaped seed pods at the apex, and spreading lateral branches with drooping fruits, all rendered with naturalistic botanical precision. The silphium root is visible at the base, resting on a ground line. Flanking the plant in the field are partial Greek letters forming the ethnic or magistrate's name abbreviation. This celebrated plant, unique to the Kyrenaikan hinterland and enormously valued in antiquity as a condiment and medicinal herb, served as the principal emblem of Kyrene's coinage throughout the Classical period.
