| Beschrijving keerzijde | A goat stands to the right in a carefully rendered naturalistic pose within a deep incuse square, symbolising the civic emblem of Ainos. The inscription ΑΙΝΙ appears in the upper field above the animal. To the right, the standing figure of Hermes, draped in a chlamys and wearing his characteristic petasos, faces right and holds his kerykeion (caduceus) before him. The composition is well-balanced within the incuse square, combining the city's principal deity with its heraldic animal in a design typical of Thracian coinage of the late fifth century BC. |
