| Obverse description | Laureate head of Apollo facing left, rendered in fine archaic-to-classical transitional style. The deity's hair is depicted in carefully incised flowing locks swept back from the brow and falling behind the neck, crowned with a laurel wreath. The facial features are delicately modelled, with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a serene expression characteristic of Sicilian-influenced die-cutting of the mid-4th century BC. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with the effigy occupying the majority of the obverse field. |
