| Obverse description | Facing head of Hermes rendered in fine Classical style, turned very slightly to the left, framed by loose curling locks of hair falling to either side. The god wears a broad-brimmed petasus adorned along its lower rim with a prominent row of beads or pellets. The modeling of the facial features is accomplished and naturalistic, with softly rendered eyes, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips. No legend appears in the field. |
