| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing head of Hermes rendered in fine Classical style, turned very slightly to the left, framed by loose curling locks of hair falling to either side. The god wears a broad-brimmed petasus adorned along its lower rim with a prominent row of beads or pellets. The modeling of the facial features is accomplished and naturalistic, with softly rendered eyes, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips. No legend appears in the field. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A goat stands in profile to the right within a shallow incuse square, rendered with careful attention to musculature and posture, its head turned forward and its long beard and swept-back horns clearly delineated. To the lower right of the animal, a rhyton (drinking horn) is depicted as a subsidiary symbol. The ethnic legend ΑΙΝΙΟΝ is inscribed in Greek characters above the goat in the upper field of the incuse square, identifying the issuing city of Ainos in Thrace. |
