| Description de l’avers | Facing left, the bust of Tanit-Persephone rendered in fine Sicilian-Greek style, her hair bound in a wreath of grain ears and falling in loose tresses about her neck. She wears a triple-pendant earring and a pearl necklace, lending an air of divine elegance to the effigy. Four dolphins are disposed around the portrait in the field, serving both as decorative elements and as emblems of maritime Punic power. The portraiture reflects the strong influence of the Syracusan engraving tradition, particularly reminiscent of the work associated with the master die-cutters of late fifth- and early fourth-century Sicily. |

| Description du revers | A spirited horse prances vigorously to the left, its forelegs raised and mane carefully rendered, conveying dynamism and prestige in the Punic numismatic tradition. Behind the horse, a tall date palm rises prominently in the field, its fronds spreading broadly at the crown and its trunk distinctly segmented — a quintessential symbol of Carthage and the Phoenician world. The ground line beneath the horse is lightly indicated, anchoring the composition. The reverse is devoid of inscription, relying entirely on its powerful iconographic programme to assert Punic identity. The die work is vigorous and confident, consistent with the best issues of the Sicilian-Punic series of the late fourth century BC. |
